I began my long career in broadcasting at age 14. I grew up in Shippensburg, a small rural and college community in south central Pennsylvania. My first job in radio was at the town's 500 watt AM radio station that carried local sports. My first assignment was to read live commercials during sporting events. After about a year I did Little League Baseball play-by-play and also moved to the college football games. Through high school and college I worked at the station not only on the air, but selling advertising and eventually was appointed manager. After several years I left radio full time, but was still able to continue broadcasting as a hobby for 51 years. Most of those years I worked regionally for a few stations and continued to do play-by-play for baseball, basketball and football. Many highlights include USFL Football, College Football Division II playoffs, High School State Championships, and many high school football and basketball playoff games. The last few years my sons, a cousin, and I created the SE SPORTS NET, which broadcast numerous sporting events. I also did various DJ stints on a few radio stations on weekends and evenings. During the years I have MC’d various public events and activities throughout south central Pennsylvania. I am very excited to be a part of the the Paseo. I love living in the Riverland community and am excited at how this brand new station can become an important part of all of our lives.
